kind of lived unhealthy lifestyle wasn'treally focused on her health so what i've been doing is trying to focus on myhealth and nutrition, my exercising and so that at seventy-four i can see mygrandkids i've known from a very early age that heart health is important my brother was 16 when he had hisopen-heart surgery and i knew from that moment on that taking care of myself wasimportant but also talking to others around me about heart health wasimportant too my best girlfriend nancy lost hernewborn baby to due to a congenital heart defect and so its impact that manypeople there close to me as well as

being a mom of twins boy i takecardiovascular health serious and want to share that messageto others father had a heart attack or severalheart attacks at 65 and he also had a stroke and my one of my brothers had aheart attack cardiac arrest even a 52 my father never got to enjoy his retirementand i'm gonna turned 50 this year next year and i want to have a vibrantretirement i wanted to travel i want to live the best life and sitting on thisbench is a bit of do over i can change things to make sure that i have a veryvibrant life and i can certainly find thirty minutes a day to move myself andget active. my brother is why.

my father has actually suffered four heart attacks. i've been closely affected by heart disease and i do think that it's aleading killer among women and i think i should be conscious of it as well, i am sure it's in my genes and i need to stay on top of it and take care of myself and exercisingeating healthy and making sure my numbers are ok so i think it's importantfor everyone to realize that it's not just a male driven disease that manywomen suffer from heart disease as well are families is why loved ones is why. it didn't really feel bad, i just noticed that my heart would start pounding. mostly, when i exercised or maybe i was stressed i was ignoring it. a few

years ago my mom had an episode ofcongestive heart failure she never has been a super healthy person she's doingwell today thankfully and is managing it with diet however as i get older andthink about my future and my retirement years with my husband and my brand newlittle four month old nephew it's so important that i have a healthy heartthat i have a healthy body and that i am able to do things that will befulfilling to me and my future in my retirement and i can keep up with thatlittle nephew as he grows up. heart disease runs in my family when i was 5 years old my dad had a i don't know what it's called but five blockages in his heart so he at the age of 35 and i realize how serious it is because

it would've asked my mom with three kids sierra is why my family is why eric and morgan is why. this personally affects me because of myboyfriend he had a heart attack three years ago and it was a shock nothing inthe family history about it out of the blue made us stop and think and reassess where we are in our lives and taking care of ourselves what we eat exerciseand living life longer. francis and barbara there my why.

my wife and daughter is why. daddy is why. my family has been personally affectedby heart disease and that my father died at the tender age of 43 when i was 17and in high school many many years ago additionally and again not surprisinglythis is a condition that runs rampant in african-american communities and i knowthat so much of it is preventable with what are seemingly simple steps but theyactually are harder to sort of bring to fruition for most communities then need be oneof those things that i know that i will be talking about thinking about fightingfor the rest of my days.

i had a heart transplant when i was 4 months old and then that heart lasted me for 17 years and then right before i turn 18 years old i gotmy second heart transplant. my happiness is why. august 22nd 2013 i was 17 yearsold i saw my mom go into cardiac arrest in the middle of the night she passedaway for eleven minutes and in between those eleven minutes my dad my did cpr until the firemen came and defibrillator twice and also continuedcpr. preventing heart disease is important to me personally because i have a lovelyeight-year-old daughter and a beautiful wife and i want to share everything ican with them for the rest of my life in

their lives i think it's important to prevent heartdisease in women because women are often the staple of communities it is womenthat often keeps the community together and strong i was born with a heart condition called holt arm syndrome my heart is on the right side of my chest was in the hospital for thefirst six months of my life shortly after i got engaged to myhusband my dad had his first heart attack at the age of 55 and then i foundout he had his second when i was five months pregnant

most women don't realize that heartdisease is their number one risk factor and that is why the work of the americanheart association and go red is so important. my dad is why. organ donation is why. my dad and my family are why. heart disease runs in are family and so we work really hard to take all preventative measures to make sure that we can stay healthy sarah, sophia, and jordan is why my mom is why my mom is why. my father has congestive heart failurewhich has driven me to live a healthier
